Appleby Hub 2017-05-04T09:18:07+00:00

A former Methodist Chapel, Appleby Hub is a community centre in the heart of historic Appleby-in-Westmorland.

In early 2015 the future of the centre was in jeopardy as there simply wasn’t the funding available to carry on running it.

When Oaklea took over the running of the Hub, Right2Work got involved too.

Severe flooding in 2015 meant that significant investment was needed by Oaklea to get the venture back on its feet and, in the Spring of 2016, the Appleby Hub was launched.

The Community Cafe was set up once the Hub was on its’ feet, and we have recently begun to offer day opportunities for people with learning disabilities.

Hub Community Cafe is open Wednesday to Saturday, from 10am to 3pm.

Our menu is full to the brim with artisan wholefoods, everything prepared by the Right2Work team.

The vision is for the centre to be a ‘hub’ for the local community and for all interests, ages and abilities with a focus on creativity and well-being.

Today Appleby Hub is once again a vibrant and thriving community asset, used by a diverse range of groups and associations of all ages and abilities.
