The R2W Board and Management team met to discuss strategy for 2020 and beyond at an awayday on Wednesday 18th December.
The full day session at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal involved Managers of the main strands of R2W (Regional R2W Manager Pete, Chris from Furniture Warehouse, Sarah from Appleby Hub, Claire from Work & Learn*, plus Simon from Marketing) as well as Chair, Phil Shea and Directors Jane Sullivan, Sue Green & Clive Wigley. They also welcomed new Board Director Susie Grainger.
The team looked at possible new initiatives for R2W and the strengths of the organisation.
Director Sue Green: “It was a chance for us to get to know each other better and refine and define our strategic direction. It was also an opportunity to build on our well-being strategic focus (learning, well-being, community).”
The eagle eyed among you may be wondering why there were marshmallows and spaghetti on the table above? No not a new recipe revealed from the Appleby Hub Cafe gang -it was all part of a team working idea from Sue – build a freestanding Giraffe! (Though there was a strict ban on management cliches and acronyms – it is fair to say R2W ‘like to think outta the box!’).
*Community Works supremo Jim Green and Director Andy Blackman were not able to attend but were there in spirit.
