The ‘Work & Learn’ Team were busy at Lowther Castle on Monday 20 January for the ‘Employability Awards’. This was joint venture with the Lowther Estates and the Ernest Cook Trust ( a Trust formed by the brother of famous travel impresario Thomas Cook -Ernest wanted to encourage rural development)
The awards were given out by Trustees of the Ernest Cook Trust and Oaklea/R2W Trustee Susie Grainger. They were for gaining workplace and life skills such as following instructions, volunteering, timekeeping, presentation/appearance at work, understanding health & safety, what risk involves and so forth.
R2W Furniture Warehouse regular Robert gave quite a speech when receiving his award -and was very keen to be snapped in the Heraldry Gallery in the Castle Museum!
Your carriage awaits – They also got a VIP tour round the grounds in the Lowther Estates ‘official’ transportation – the buggy! Here some of the winners can be seen with Work & Learn Advisers Melissa and Maria.
Well done Trevor, Robert, Alice, Phillip & Charles. Here’s to the next awards!
