Right2Work (R2W) has secured sponsorship of our collection vehicles from leading bus operator, Stagecoach.
It’s a really fantastic gesture from Stagecoach and helps keep our bulky waste and furniture collection vans on the road. Regional Manager of R2W, Peter Bradbury and Sean O’Callaghan from Stagecoach can be seen at the ceremonial handover with an extra large sponsorship cheque!
To celebrate, a fun photoshoot was held on a typical Lakeland road above Kendal, which required some deft manoeuvres from the drivers as the snappers had them all over the place just to get a shot they were happy with!
Peter Bradbury; “The sponsorship that Stagecoach give R2W is invaluable as this has enabled us to support local disabled and disadvantaged people across Cumbria. The sponsorship helps us with providing tools, equipment and clothing for our trainees.
Over the past 12 months we have diverted 125 tonnes of waste away from landfill (that’s the equivalent of 10 double deckers!) and also supported 27 people into paid employment its a win-win all round.”
R2W is all about giving opportunities for disadvantaged people and those with a learning disability -and it’s often the little things on a day like this.
Peter adds: “One of our customers, Jake, would normally be reluctant to leave the warehouse -yet had a cracking time out and about -it all help’s build confidence and independence which is what we are all about.”
So a big thanks to our friends at Stagecoach – Richard Martin, Operations Manager for Stagecoach, Sean O’Callaghan Stagecoach Depot Manager at Kendal, Caitlin Olney, Marketing Manager for Stagecoach & John Mitchell, Inspector from Stagecoach – and of course the numerous R2W customers who made excellent ‘extras’ at the photocall!
