Our Work & Learn gang have had a really good catch up with members of the DWP (Department for Work & Pensions) team they work with in Cumbria. The rather convivial catch up was held in the lovely surrounds of the R2W Appleby Hub Cafe.
Julie, a Disability Employment Adviser from the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) had this to say:
“I just wanted to drop you a line to say how lovely it was to meet. I think I can speak for us all to say it was really useful, and it’s evident what a difference Sarah (Richardson – Eden Valley R2W Job Coach) is making to the lives of some of our most vulnerable and isolated in the area. Great news that yet another of our customers has secured work after Sarah’s input.
“We were really impressed with ‘The Hub’. It has a lovely atmosphere and is clearly a vital part of the community, and I can honestly say that the training and heritage centre (up the road near Appleby railway station) is certainly the most unique training environment I have ever visited, fantastic.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if there is anything we can do to further support the good work you’re doing.”
