All this week we’ve been looking at the superb work our R2W ‘Work & Learn’ Team do with young people across Cumbria. It’s also a great way of marking ‘Learning disability work week’ (18-22 Nov).
A few days ago we told you about Dom – well he’s been a busy lad. On Monday he attended an NHS induction session before he started a placement at Furness General Hospital in Barrow.
You can see him above with his R2W Employment Advisor, Grant Huck – in fact let Grant explain what they’re up to:
“Aaron Cummins, the NHS CEO for Morecambe Bay, likes to take what he calls a ‘Rollercoaster Face’ photo of all new staff at the inductions. It’s also a chance to discuss NHS values and the senior team kindly took the time to meet Dom and wish him the very best on his NHS Internship journey. Dom starts his placement shortly and will be working between the DSU (Day Surgery Unit) and the Plaster room dealing with patient care and staff support in his health care assistant role.”
