The Eden Workshop

The Eden Workshop offers quality workshops as well as drop in crafts, developing craft kits to sell, and with the help of Patrizia who oversees the Appleby Hub Kitchen & Cafe, some Foodie Workshops and much more. Jane finds the best tutors and invites them to share their skills, the workshops are small, generally max of 7 so they are informal thus offering plenty of opportunity to interact with each other & the tutor.

Part of the Oaklea Group, The Eden Workshop is a social enterprise.

We are pleased to welcome Jane Farkiss & The Eden Workshop to the R2W family!

The Eden Workshop was based at Plumpton near Penrith – and from the start of 2020 moved to the Appleby Hub.

R2W will build on The Eden Workshop name as an existing brand which. We will also contribute to the monthly Hub Craft Fair which will get a crafty fix, new stalls and Make & take sessions are planned for February onwards!

Jane aims to inspire & empower you to “have a go” at all those things you quite fancied doing, but never got round to. She finds the best tutors and invites them to share their skills, the workshops are small, generally a maximum of 7 so they are informal thus offering plenty of opportunity to interact with each other and the tutor!

Along with the published list of Workshops that you can book onto we also offer private bespoke ones just for you such as girly catch ups, birthday/crafty hen parties, team building/bonding -these can be arranged at a time to suit and with food to suit too – anything from a crafty couple of hours get together with friends (starting from £20) to a day’s bag making or twoday basket weaving or upholstery workshop. Refreshments and a tasty lunch cooked in our on site wholefood Hub Cafe are included on the day courses (allergies and special dietary requirements catered for -but please advise beforehand) as are some, if not most of the materials.

Access & Parking: There’s plenty of parking in the pay & display car park next to the Hub and a lift for those who find stairs a challenge.

The Eden Workshop - what's new

NEW Craft Workshops from visiting local tutors start March.

They start in March with the aptly named “The Appleby” a wooden framed bag which is a new pattern from Hole House’s Emma Redfern – who’s bags are snapped up as soon as they are made. There will be wirework sculptures, silver jewellery, sewing, weaving and many, many more scheduled over the year.

Running along side the scheduled workshops will be Drop in Craft sessions – the idea of Hub Manager Sarah Jones & Jane Farkins, workshop & event co-ordinator – these will be run in The Art Studio and will start from £3 and no booking is needed. “craft is proven to be beneficial to our mental wellness in so many ways, we are thrilled to be able to offer a chance to take a bit of time out for yourself in our cosy studio with a cuppa, you can chat too if you want or just craft – the choice is yours – that’s the beauty of craft!”
